Our gears made to last but in the interest of keeping it looking good… here’s the lowdown on leather care.
But first, what’s so good about leather anyway?
It’s natural and the grain and colour of every piece is unique and unrepeatable, developing in character as it ages. It’s soft but strong and unlike synthetic materials, it lasts. We use predominantly Italian and Brazilian leathers and although they cost more, the thick spongy handfeel and how they wear is far superior to cheaper leathers.
Leather Blunders to Avoid
Be extra careful/paranoid about using pens near it, as ink can soak below the surface of the leather and won’t come out! Leather's basically a skin so avoid scraping it on rough surfaces and if it gets wet, be sure to dry it at room temperature out of the sun.
Protection from baddies
Over time the leather will collect mementoes of your travels like dirt and natural oils. To clean it we recommend using a leather wipe. If that doesn’t work we’d suggest taking it to a leather specialist to have it professionally cleaned.
